Black Dye (Pre-Searing)

Black Dye is one of the most desirable dye colors in Guild Wars 1. Players can apply it to compatible armor, weapons and other dyeable equipment to create a darker appearance. The final color varies according to the item’s material and original color channels, so using the dye preview is recommended before applying it.

Within Pre-Searing Ascalon, Black Dye also serves as a widely recognized alternative currency. High-value items available later in the game, including Ectos, Zaishen Keys and Armbraces, cannot be obtained there, so Pre-Searing traders often use Black Dye for exchanges that exceed the normal platinum limit.

Before ordering, confirm that your character is still in Pre-Searing and that the equipment you plan to customize can accept dye. This listing should not be used for delivery to a Post-Searing character.
